(
Place a left parenthesis at the beginning of the selected condition. Use parentheses to group conditions to control the way the entire expression is evaluated.
)
Place a right parenthesis at the end of the selected condition. Use parentheses to control the way the entire expression is evaluated.
And
Place an
And
in front of the selected condition. By default, each condition has an
And
in front of it. Use
And
when you want results to appear in the search results only if conditions are met. For example, if you want to see events that have the username Bob Smith that occurred in the last two days, join the date and username conditions with
And
.
Or
Place an
Or
in front of the selected condition. Use
Or
when you want an item to appear in the search results if one or the other condition is met. For example, if you want to see results where Bob or Sally was the user, join these conditions with an
Or
. The search results will show records where Bob or Sally was the user.
Not
Place a
Not
in front of the selected condition. Use
Not
when you want to exclude records that meet the condition. For example, if you want to see search results where Bob was not the user, place a
Not
in front of the condition that would determine that Bob was the user. The search results will show no records where Bob was the user.
Move up
Move a condition higher in the list of conditions shown. While FactoryTalk AssetCentre does evaluate conditions in a specific order (parenthetical conditions before
And
conditions, and
Or
conditions last), it does also evaluate those conditions from top to bottom. Therefore, to find search results that include all of Bob and Sally's work before Fred's work, place Bob and Sally's conditions above Fred's.
Move down
Move a condition lower in the list of conditions shown. FactoryTalk AssetCentre evaluates the conditions in the order that they appear. Therefore, to find search results that include all of Bob and Sally's work after Fred's work, place Bob and Sally's conditions below Fred's.
