State Management Overview

When FactoryTalk Analytics GuardianAI is connected to the Controller, users can monitor a component across multiple operating states. Upon clicking

Start Training & Monitoring

, the system uses the tags selected on the

State Definition

page to define distinct states based on changes in tag values. For each state, a separate baseline is established, allowing the component to be monitored for deviations specific to that operating condition.

A state will be created only if the tag is valid. The tag is considered invalid if its value is empty or white space. If multiple tags are selected, at least one tag must be valid to create a state.

When the controller is not configured, the component's state is generally called the Default state. No separate tabs will be available.
