Mapping OPC Variables
The
AADvance-Trusted SIS Workstation software®
enables the write access from the Workbench OPC portal without restricting access. OPC write for variables can only be allowed from the OPC-specific Communication
property page. The Allow OPC Write
command is only available for user-defined variables or user-defined instances of function blocks.By default, the following options to map OPC variables are selected (True):
- Include Server Constants
- Include Server Functions
- Auto-include All Variables
When
Auto-include All Variables
is selected, all of the controller’s variables are added to the list of mapped variables.
IMPORTANT:
When adding or removing individual variables,
clear the
Auto-include All Variables
option.To map OPC variables
- In theCommunication View, expand the required controller, and then expand theWorkbench & OPCelement.
- Double-clickOPC.TheCommunicationproperty page displays the variables mapped forOPC®communication.
- In theCommunicationproperty page, select whether to include server constants and include server functions.
- To automatically include all variables for theOPCservice, selectAuto-include All Variables. Also choose to add all of a controller’s variables by clickingAdd All Variables.
- To add individual variables to the list, clickAdd Variable, and then choose the required variable from theVariable Selector.TIP: After modifying a variable, close and then reopen the OPC Communication property page.
- To remove a variable, select a variable from the list, and then clickRemove Selected.
- To toggle the OPC write property for variables, in theAllow OPC Writecolumn of the visible window, select the required variables.
