Create users in the FactoryTalk Administration Console

You can add users to preconfigured user groups in the FactoryTalk Administration Console. Each user group is created automatically when the FactoryTalk Historian ME Management is installed. The FTHAdministrators, FTHEngineers, FTHOperators, and FTHSupervisors user groups represent different levels of user security. For details, see Understand privileges for user groups.

To create a FactoryTalk Historian ME user in the FactoryTalk Administration Console
  1. Go to
    Start > All Programs > Rockwell Software > FactoryTalk Administration Console
    .
    The
    FactoryTalk Administration Console
    window appears.
  2. In the
    Select FactoryTalk Directory
    dialog box, click
    Network
    , and then click
    OK
    .
    TIP:
    FactoryTalk Historian ME and FactoryTalk Historian SE support only the
    Network
    option in the FactoryTalk Directory
  3. In the
    Explorer
    pane, expand
    User and Groups
    .
  4. Right-click
    Users
    , and then click
    New > User
    .
    The
    New User
    dialog box appears.
  5. Complete the user information.
  6. Click the
    Group Membership
    tab, and then click
    Add
    .
    The
    Select User Group
    dialog box appears.
  7. Select the group to which you want the user to belong, and then click
    OK
    .
  8. In the
    New User
    dialog box, click
    OK
    .
  9. In the
    Explorer
    pane, expand
    User Groups
    , and then double-click the group to which you added the new user.
    The new user is listed under
    Members
    .
