Options on the X-Axis tab

The following tables shows the options on the
X-Axis
tab.

Descriptions
Chart time range
Start date / Start time
The two options determine the starting date and starting time on the left edge of the chart. As the chart scrolls with new data, it updates with the latest data for the specified time span. The start date and start time serve only as starting points on the chart. The start date must fall within these limits: 1/1/1992 through 1/17/2037.
Start date and Start time are not available if Allow Scrolling is checked on the Display tab. Clear the Allow scrolling check box to set up a custom Start date and Start time.
Time span
Controls the amount of data that displays on the runtime chart. For a standard line chart, the time span controls the chart's horizontal scale. For an xy plot, the Min and Max properties (set up on the Pens tab) of the selected pen control the horizontal scale, and the time span controls the number of data points plotted.
When set up through this tab, the time span does not have a specific limit. The only limitation is that the time span cannot be large enough so that the date of the start date and time span combined exceed 12/31/2037 when scrolling. Also, the current date minus the time span cannot be earlier than 1/1/1992 when not scrolling.
Display options
Display scale
Determines whether the x-axis legend is shown at the bottom of the chart. For a standard line chart, the legend shows the start and end times. For an xy plot, the legend shows the minimum and maximum value range of the pen selected as the x-axis.
Display date on scale
Determines whether to show the date associated with each time stamp.
Display grid lines
Determines whether vertical grid lines display on the chart.
Major grid lines
Specify from 0 to 30 solid major grid lines.
Minor grid lines
Specify from 0 to 0 dashed minor grid lines.
Grid color
Determines the color of the vertical grid lines. To change the color, click the color square and then click a color on the palette.
