Set up redundancy for an HMI server
Use the HMI Server Properties dialog box to set up the redundancy for an HMI server.
To set up redundancy:
- In theFactoryTalk View StudioExplorer window, right-click the HMI server and selectProperties.
- In the HMI ServerPropertiesdialog box, on theGeneraltab, selectLoad and run startup components when operating system initializes.
- On theRedundancytab, selectProvide redundancy using a secondary server.
- UnderComputer hosting the server, type the name of the secondary server.
- UnderSwitchover options, select a switchover option.
- When complete, clickOK.
- To automatically save the online edits to both active and standby servers:
- InFactoryTalk View Studio, from the menu, selectTools>Options.
- On theSettingstab, make sure theSave edits to both active and standby HMI serversoption is selected.
- To keep the HMI memory tag values the same on both active and standby servers, on theSettingstab, select theAuto synchronize HMI memory tag values to both active and standby HMI serversoption.
