Logging on to an SE Client
To log on to a FactoryTalk View SE Client, the user logging on must be:
- In the FactoryTalk View Runtime Security accounts list.
- Allowed to run applications in the FactoryTalk View SE Client.
When you install FactoryTalk View SE software, the All Users account is added automatically
to the FactoryTalk View SE Runtime Security user accounts list. This gives all users full
access to FactoryTalk View SE applications at runtime, without needing to log on.
If FactoryTalk Security has been used to apply additional security to an application at the FactoryTalk Directory, the logon dialog box is displayed when the FactoryTalk View SE Client is started, if any of the following is true:
- Single sign-on is not enabled.
- Single sign-on is enabled, but there is no user logged on to the Factory Directory, and the current Windows user is not set up as a FactoryTalk Windows-linked user.
- Single sign-on is enabled, but the current FactoryTalk Windows-linked user does not have the necessary security permissions to run the FactoryTalk View SE Client.
FactoryTalk supports these account types: FactoryTalk user groups and users, Windows-linked
user groups and users, LDAP-linked user groups, and Cloud-based authentication groups. For
more information on FactoryTalk account types, see
