Create an area - network station

You can create an area in the root folder of a network station application. There can be only one HMI server either resides in the root folder of the application or the created area.
To create an area:
  1. In
    FactoryTalk View Studio
    , in the Explorer window, right-click the application and select
    New Area
    .
  2. In the
    New Area
    dialog box, specify a name and description and click
    OK
    .
The dialog box includes the following options:
  • Name
    Type a name for the area. This will appear beside the area’s icon and folder in the Explorer.
    Extended ASCII characters or Unicode characters are not supported in the names for applications, areas, HMI servers, data servers, HMI tags,
    FactoryTalk Linx
    shortcuts, and FactoryTalk View Studio application files (.SED).
    TIP:
    Area name can only contain alpha-numeric characters, spaces, and underscores.
    The name for any area, data server, or HMI server should be unique.
  • Description
    Type a description for the area. This will be displayed in the Area Properties dialog box. To view the Area Properties dialog box, right-click the area’s icon or name and then select Properties.
