Lock an object or group
Use the
Convert to Wallpaper
option to lock the object or group. When you lock an object or group into position, they make an unchanging background for the other objects in the display. They cannot be selected or edited until you unlock the wallpaper. Any animation associated with an object that has become wallpaper, is ignored at runtime. Tags associated with wallpaper objects will not be activated.
Converting objects to wallpaper helps speed up animated graphic displays because the wallpaper does not have to be redrawn each time one of the overlapping objects changes.
TIP:
Objects in a global object display cannot be converted to wallpaper.
If a graphic display contains bitmaps that do not need to be selected or animated, to reduce the time it takes to open the display, convert the bitmaps to wallpaper.
To convert objects to wallpaper:
- In the Graphics editor, on the display, select the objects.
- From the menu, selectEdit>Wallpaper>Convert to Wallpaper.
- To unlock the wallpaper objects, right-click any empty area of the display and selectUnlock All Wallpaper. Alternatively, selectEdit>Wallpaper>Unlock All Wallpaper.
