Signature Button Properties - Signature tab

The authentication dialog box is displayed at runtime when the operator clicks the signature button. In the
Signature
tab you set up how the authentication dialog box will behave.
Operation
Select an operation for the button. You need to specify additional information when using
Set Numeric Value
or
Send Command
.
  • Set Numeric Value
    ,
    Set String Value
    , or
    Set True/False Value
    Select this option to set values for numeric, string, or boolean tags. In the
    Connections
    tab you will have to specify a tag for the
    Value
    property that will be set by the Signature button.
  • Set Date/Time Value
    Select this option to set values for date and time information. In the
    Connections
    tab you will have to specify a tag for the
    DatePart
    ,
    TimePart
    , or
    DateTimeString
    property that will be set by the Signature button.
  • Send Command
    Select this option to specify FactoryTalk View SE commands to be executed.
  • Download Input Values
    Select this option to download all input field values on the current display.
Window Title
Shown in the title bar of the authentication dialog box at runtime.
Operation Description
Type a description of the operation that the button will carry out. This description is shown in the authentication dialog box and logged to the Diagnostics List at runtime.
Set Numeric Value
This group is visible when you select the
Set Numeric Value
option.
  • Minimum
    Specify the minimum allowable value that the tag can be set to.
  • Maximum
    Specify a maximum allowable value the tag can be set to. The maximum value must be greater than the minimum value.
  • Decimals
    Specify the number of decimal places that will be used to show current and entered tag values in the authentication dialog.
FactoryTalk View command
This group is visible when you select the
Send Command
option.
Enter the commands to be executed. The command string needs to include the command and whatever parameters it requires to carry out the intended operation.
Authentication
Enable Performer Authentication
Select the check box to activate the User name and Password input boxes for the operator on the authentication dialog box at runtime. This means that the person who is currently logged in to the client will have to verify their login identity before they can perform the operation.
  • Performer Group
    Specify a group that the performer must be a member of. If this is left blank the performer does not need to belong to any group.
  • Enable Approver Authentication
    Select this check box to activate the User name and Password input boxes for an approver. The person who approves can be any valid user in the specified domain or approver group.
  • Approver Group
    Specify a group that the approver must be a member of. If this is left blank the approver does not need to belong to any group.
Default user authentication domain
Type the name of the domain the operator and approver are to be members of.
