Properties
Caption
Type the text for the object or state. The text appears on the face of the object, to give the operator information about what the object does or about the current state. If you have added an embedded variable to the caption, the embedded variable syntax appears in the Caption field, but the text of the variable appears on the face of the object.
Insert Variable
Adds an embedded variable to the caption. Click Insert Variable and then select the type of variable to be inserted in the caption. In the dialog box, specify the details of the variable. After you have set up the embedded variable, the syntax appears in the Caption box.
Font
Select the font to use for the caption or message.
Size
Select the font size to use for the caption or message.
Caption color
This field displays the current text color for the caption. Click it to select another color.
Caption back color
This field displays the current text color for the caption. Click it to select another color.
Caption blink
Select this check box if the caption is to blink at runtime. The caption blinks twice per second.
Word wrap
Select this check box if the caption or message is to continue on the next line at the beginning of a new word. If this is not selected, the caption or message continues on the next line whenever the maximum text length is reached, even if this occurs in the middle of a word or number. The maximum text length depends on the width of the object and the font size.
To control where a message begins a new line, use the symbol for a new line, "\n," in your messages in the message file.
Caption back style
Click the down arrow and then click Solid or Transparent to specify the caption’s background style. If you select Transparent, the object’s background is not filled in and any objects behind it show through.
Bold (B), Italic (I), Underline (U)
Click a letter, or letters, to specify the font style for the caption or message, if required.
Alignment
Click a button to specify how the caption is to be positioned on the object. If the object is a circle or ellipse, the position is relative to the button’s bounding box.
The following table shows the properties under
Image Settings
in the
Label
tab of Ramp Button.
Options
Properties
Image
Select the file name of the graphic image for the object. The image appears on the face of the object, to give the operator information about what the object does. Before you can place an image on the object, you must import the image into the application.
Image color
For monochrome images, this field displays the current image foreground color. Click it to select another color.
Image back color
For monochrome images, this field displays the current image background color. Click it to select another color. If the image background style is transparent, the application does not use this image background color.
Image blink
For monochrome images, select this check box if the image is to blink at runtime. The image blinks twice per second.
Image scaled
Select this check box if the application is to resize the image to fit the object. If the object is a circle or ellipse, the image is resized to fit in the object’s bounding box, then clipped to fit the object’s shape. If this is not selected, the image is first aligned using the Alignment setting, then, if larger than the object, the image is clipped to fit the object.
Image back style
Click the down arrow and then click Solid or Transparent to specify the image’s background style. For color images that are not PNG with Alpha channel, if the Image back style is set to Transparent, any parts of the image that are black will be transparent.
Alignment
Click a button to specify how the image is to be positioned on the object. If the object is a circle or ellipse, the position is relative to the button’s bounding box.
