Port Configuration view
Use the
Port Configuration
view to view and configure the port properties. The settings define how data is sent and received between the port and the attached device. The Port Configuration
view is only available for devices with an embedded Ethernet port, and the configured values are only displayed when the device is online. For controller devices, you can:
- View the port configuration settings.
- Refresh communication to obtain the latest port configuration setting information from the device.
For non-controller devices, you can:
- Configure the port settings.IMPORTANT:Configuring the port settings involves writing data to the device, which interrupts the connection to the controller and to any other device that is connected through it. Connections from other controllers may be interrupted as well. Ensure a connection interruption at this time is acceptable before proceeding.
- Reset the device, if configuration setting changes were made that require a reset. If the controller requires a power cycle to apply the settings, this message appears:Changes to Speed and Duplex require controller power cycle. If the controller does not require a power cycle to apply the settings, the message does not appear.
