Internet Protocol view
Use the
Internet Protocol
view to view and configure the Internet Protocol (IP) settings for device. The settings define how data is routed to and from the device, and within the network. The Internet Protocol
view is only available for devices with an embedded Ethernet port, and the configured values are only displayed when the device is online.For controller devices, you can:
- View the IP settings.
- Refresh communication to obtain the latest IP setting information from the device.
For non-controller devices, you can:
- Select the desired configuration mode for the device.
- Enter the IP settings if using the manual configuration option.
- View the IP settings.
- Refresh communication to obtain the latest port configuration setting information from the device.
The IP settings can be configured manually or automatically obtained using either the BOOTP or DHCP protocol, depending on the device.
TIP:
The IP address can be set using the switches on the device (for devices that support setting the IP address by device).
