Data log overview
Data log records the data values of a defined set of variables in a controller project. Variable values can be logged to the memory card at runtime based on the program configuration.
Up to 50 group folders can be written to the data log each day. Each group folder can contain up to 50 files, with a file size from 4 kilobytes to 8 kilobytes.
When creating projects with the same controller name but a different data set or data set variables, uploading the log files to the new project might result in a mixture of old and new log files. To avoid the scenario, consider doing the following actions:
- Before creating the project, fetch the log files.
- In the new project, delete the old log files, download the new data set and variables, and then fetch the log files.
- InProject Organizer, create a unique name for the controller, because the controller name determines the destination folder in the SD memory card.
