Use Copy and Paste Special

Copy
and
Paste Special
provide the ability to decide whether to include children and subobjects details when pasting a copied object. If an object is pasted, all of the associated items are copied and pasted along with the object.
Copy
and
Paste Special
are only available from the
Class View
pane.
To use Copy and Paste Special
  1. Select the object that will be copied to create the object. Right-click and click
    Copy
    .
    • Right-click the destination of the copied object and click
      Paste Special
      .
    • Select the branch where the object will reside. Right-click and click
      Paste Special
      .
  2. The
    PasteSpecial
    dialog displays.
    • Select the
      Include Children
      checkbox to include communication module children.
    • Select the
      Include Sub-Objects
      checkbox to include I/O module subobjects, for example, channels.
    TIP: For Batch objects,
    Include IO Reference Values
    and
    Include Non-IO Reference Values
    are disabled in the
    PasteSpecial
    dialog in
    System View
    and
    Class View
    .
  3. Click
    Paste
    .
  4. The
    Rename
    dialog displays. The object names that must be changed to prevent a naming conflict are shown in red.
    • Enter a new name when a naming conflict exists. When there are no conflicts, the name is black.
    • Click
      OK
      to paste the object.
