How do I open Server Configuration?
  • From the
    Start
    menu, select
    Rockwell Software >
    FactoryTalk Linx Gateway
     Configuration
    .
  • Select
    Global Settings
    .
Use

 to set
FactoryTalk
 application scope and global server properties for the
FactoryTalk Linx Gateway
 service.

Description
Current Activation Type
A status shows the activation utilized. Use the refresh button to refresh the activation.
Change Activation
Lists all the activation types. The default option is "Automatic Selection" which
FactoryTalk Linx Gateway
 selects the activation that supports the most tags.
FactoryTalk Policy Directory Scope
Select the FactoryTalk Policy Directory Scope type that corresponds with the FactoryTalk system.
  • Network
    Network applications are distributed across a network.
  • Local
    Local applications are constrained to this local computer.
Data Source
Selects the data source.
  • FactoryTalk Linx Gateway Standalone Data Service
    Choose this option to access tags directly from Logix 5000 controllers without creating FactoryTalk applications and FactoryTalk Linx servers. When Standalone is selected, a standalone data service is configured within FactoryTalk Linx Gateway on the same computer.
    Only the Processor shortcut is supported, and it can only reference a Logix controller.
  • FactoryTalk Application
    This option will utilize FactoryTalk Linx servers defined in a FactoryTalk application. Choose this option to access tags via an existing FactoryTalk application, area, or subarea that is created in FactoryTalk View Studio or FactoryTalk Administration Console, and tags from that application, area, or sub-area are accessible to clients.
Keep configurations when uninstall
Retains configuration and certificates when
FactoryTalk Linx Gateway
 is uninstalled or upgraded.
The files are saved in C:\ProgramData\Rockwell\FactoryTalk Linx Gateway
Component List
View and control the interface status.
