Enter Workstation IP Address/Host Name dialog box

How do I open the Enter Workstation IP Address/Host Name dialog box?
The Enter Workstation IP Address/Hostname dialog shows when you right-click a workstation and select
Add Workstation
, or select
Edit > Navigator View > Add Workstation
from the
Menu
bar on the main Diagnostics Monitor window, or click DiagnosticsCounterMonitor Linked Icons PNG File Template from the toolbar.
The
Enter Workstation IP Address/Hostname
dialog box enables you to select the workstation that contains the diagnostics you want to view and add it to the
Navigator area
.
The
Enter Workstation IP Address/Hostname
dialog box contains the following information:
  • IP Address
  • Enter the IP address of the workstation.
  • Hostname
  • Enter the hostname of the workstation.
The hostname:
  • Length must be between 2 and 255 characters
  • Cannot start with a dot (.), underscore (_), or asterisk (*)
  • Cannot contain double dots (..)
  • Cannot contain any of the following characters: {|}~[\\]^:;<=>?@!#$%()+/,
  • Cannot contain all numbers
In addition, individual labels within the hostname cannot contain more than 63 characters. Labels are the characters between the dots or slashes in the hostname. For example, MyComputer.Rockwell.com contains three labels: MyComputer, Rockwell, and com.
If the hostname entered is not valid, an error message is shown.
  • Click
    OK
    to add the workstation to the Navigator area.
  • Click
    Cancel
    to close the dialog box without acting on any changes to the dialog box.

    to access the online help, or press
    F1
    .
