that it should automatically search for and insert it into the first available slot in the virtual backplane. Typically this setting should remain at the default state of not selected.

If you are running a

SoftLogix

controller on the same computer as

FactoryTalk Linx

, you may need to clear this box and enter a specific slot for which

FactoryTalk Linx

should insert itself. This would be necessary to match a configuration that exists within the

SoftLogix

system.

Tip:

On a

PanelView Plus

device, the Virtual Backplane driver provides access to a ControlNet card or a DeviceNet card.

This is the node address or the slot position of

FactoryTalk Linx

in the virtual backplane. On the

PanelView Plus

, the only valid slot position is 0, and this is the slot which will be used regardless of what is specified in the configuration. On the desktop, valid slot positions are 1 to 16 decimal.
