Advance tab for FactoryTalk Linx device discovery

How do I open the dialog box?
Use one of the following methods:
  • From the
    Communication Setup
editor, right-click on the device shown at the root, and then click
    Properties
    .
  • From the
    Communications
    tab of
    FactoryTalk Administration Console
, right-click on the device shown at the root, and then click
    Properties
    .
The
Advance
tab provides the configuration field to set maximum concurrent packets to browse bridged networks, the concurrent processors to upload extended properties, and the terminal file transfer communication packet size.
Use the
FactoryTalk Linx
Advance tab when browsing an Ethernet subnet that is connected to the computer indirectly. Either through a USB interface, across a ControlLogix backplane, or across a
Logix 5000
controller with multiple communication ports. Set the maximum concurrent packets specifies the number of simultaneous devices
FactoryTalk Linx
will attempt to detect at any single time.
  • Setting this value higher will improve the rate that
    FactoryTalk Linx
detects devices when the user is browsing the network, but could limit the number of communications connections through a device which can be utilized for other operations.
  • Setting this value lower will reduce the likelihood that a network browse impacts other operations but will reduce the rate that devices are detected and presented in the topology tree.
Enter the maximum concurrent packets value to browse the bridged network when bridged devices are connected.
