Enable alarms

Enabling an alarm notifies the operator when the alarm condition occurs.
The ability to enable an alarm is controlled by
FactoryTalk Security
.
To enable alarms in an application or area, you need the following security permissions for the application or area:
  • Common > Read
     (required to list the alarm in the application or area)
  • Common >List Children
     (required to list the alarm in the application or area)
  • Alarming > Enable/Disable
To enable alarms
  1. On the toolbar, click the
    Display the Alarm Status Explorer
    Toolbar_ShowAlarmStatusExplorerbutton or right-click an alarm and click
    Alarm Status
    to open the Alarm Status Explorer.
  2. From the
    Alarm Status Explorer
     window, select the alarm or alarms you want to enable, and then click the
    Enable selected alarm
    BUTTON_Enable_selected_alarm_source button.
