Acknowledge alarms

Acknowledging (Ack) an alarm does not correct the condition causing the alarm--it indicates that an operator is aware of the alarm.
To acknowledge alarms
  • In the Alarm and Event Summary event list, do one of the following:
    • Select the alarms you want to acknowledge, and then click the
      Acknowledge selected alarm
      Toolbar_AckSelected toolbar button.
    • Select the alarms you want to acknowledge, right-click the selection, and then click
      Ack
      .
      Multiple alarms can be selected by clicking one event and then clicking a second event while holding down the shift key.
To acknowledge alarms and enter a comment
  1. In the Alarm and Event Summary event list , do one of the following:
    • Select the alarms you want to acknowledge, and then click the
      Acknowledge selected alarm with comment
      Toolbar_AckSelectedComment toolbar button.
    • Select the alarms you want to acknowledge, right-click the selection, and then click
      Ack Comment
      .
  2. In the
    Acknowledge with Comment
    dialog box, type a comment, and then click
    Acknowledge
    . The comment appears in the alarm and event history log.
To acknowledge all of the alarms displayed on the page
  • Do one of the following:
    • In the Alarm and Event Summary toolbar, click the
      Acknowledge page of alarms
      Toolbar_AckPage button.
    • In the Alarm and Event Summary event list, right-click an alarm and then click
      Ack Page
      .
      All alarms currently visible in the event list are acknowledged. Alarms filtered out of the list are not acknowledged.
To acknowledge all of the alarms in the event list
  • Do one of the following:
    • In the Alarm and Event Summary toolbar, click the
      Acknowledge all alarms
      Toolbar_AckAll button or
    • In the Alarm and Event Summary event list, right-click an alarm and then click
      Ack All
      .
      All alarms in the event list are acknowledged, even if they are not all visible. Alarms filtered out of the list are not acknowledged. By default the
      Acknowledge all alarms
      toolbar button is not displayed.
      TIP:
      The Alarm and Event Summary is completely configurable; some acknowledgment methods may not be available depending on the configuration options selected during design time.
