New Action Group

How do I open New Action Group?
  1. Start
    FactoryTalk Administration Console
     or
    FactoryTalk View Studio
     and then log on to the
    FactoryTalk
     Network Directory or
    FactoryTalk
     Local Directory.
  2. In
    Explorer
    , right-click
    Action Groups
     and then select
    New Action Group
    .
Group actions together to grant or deny security permissions for a set of actions in one step. Use
New Action Group
 to add an action group. Specify the properties for each action group:
Setting
Description
Name
Type a unique name for the new action group. The name cannot be the same as the name of any other action group. The name of the action group appears in
Security Settings
. The new action group appears in the category
User Action Groups
 in the list of actions in the
Security Settings
.
  • To add an action group now but assign actions to it later, type a name for the action group and then select
    New
    .
  • Cannot rename an action group
    . Instead, note the permissions assigned to the action group and delete the action group. Then add a new action group and grant the permissions noted.
Available actions and action groups
Shows the actions that are not already used in the action group. Select the actions to include in the new action group and select
>>
 to add them to the group.
Selected actions and action groups
Shows the actions in the new action group. To remove actions from the group, select the actions and select
<<
.
