How do I open
Windows
-linked User Properties?
In the
Explorer
window, expand System
> Users and Groups
> Users
, right-click the Windows
-linked user account you want to view or edit, and click Properties.
Use to view these

-linked user account properties:- the name of the user account
- the user's full name
- a description of the user
To modify these properties, edit the user account in
Windows
. Modifying
the properties in the General
tab is not possible. Modify the groups to which the Windows
-linked user account belongs in the Group Membership
tab.Setting | Description |
---|---|
User name | A short name for the user (for example, cjenkins) . |
Full name | The full name of the user (for example, Chris Jenkins ). |
Description | (Optional) A description of the user account. |
E-mail | The email address, if any, that is associated with this Windows domain account. To change the email address, go to Active Directory Users and Computers in Windows . Associating an email address with a Windows -linked account whose Windows account is not a member of a domain is not possible, for example, Workgroup accounts, or Windows accounts on the local computer.Some FactoryTalk -enabled products can send messages or notifications to an email address. For details, see the documentation supplied with the FactoryTalk -enabled product. |
Login method | Select how the user account logs in to FactoryTalk . Options are:
Note that reset password after switching the login method. Otherwise, the user may not be able to log on. |
Password | Settings in this area apply to the password login method. |
Password | Type a password for the user account. The field is displayed when a FactoryTalk user is added. |
Confirm | Type the same password typed in Password . The field is displayed when a FactoryTalk user is added. |
User must change password at next logon | When selected, forces the user to change the account password at next log on. Clear to allow the user to keep the same password. |
User cannot change password | Select to prevent account password changes. Clear to allow account password changes. |
Password never expires | Select to allow the user to keep the same password indefinitely. Clear to require that the user change the account password at intervals specified by the security policy. |
Badge | Settings in this area apply to the badge login method. |
Badge ID | Type the identification number associated with the badge assigned to the user account. |
Scan | Uses the local card reader to obtain the Badge ID from the badge. |
