Add a device to a logical name

Use
Logical Name Properties
 to add control devices or networks to a logical name so that they inherit the security permissions of the logical name.
To add devices to a logical name
  1. In
    FactoryTalk Administration Console
    Explorer
    , expand
    Networks and Devices
     until the logical name is visible.
  2. Right-click the logical name, then select
    Properties
    .
  3. In
    Logical Name Properties
    , select
    Add
    .
  4. In
    Device Browser
    , select a device, or type the network relative path to a device that does not exist yet, but will be added later.
  5. When finished, select
    OK
    .
