Remove a device from a logical name

Use
Logical Name Properties
 to remove a device association from a logical name.
IMPORTANT:
Do not remove an
RSLogix 5000
 controller from a logical name. Because
RSLogix 5000
 controllers do not use network relative paths, removing the device from a logical name can cause unexpected results.
To remove a device from a logical name
  1. In
    FactoryTalk Administration Console
    Explorer
    , expand
    Networks and Devices
     until the logical name is visible.
  2. Right-click the logical name, then select
    Properties
    .
  3. In
    Logical Name Properties
    , in the
    Device members
     list, select a device or network.
  4. Select
    Remove
    , then
    OK
    .
