Create a local message display

Use local message displays to give the operator prompts about what to do next or information about a process.
At runtime the local message display shows one message at a time from the message file you assign to the display. The application monitors the Value control at the data source, and displays the message with the trigger value that matches the Value control value.
You set up the appearance of the local message display object, assign the Value control, and specify the message file to use with the object in the Local Message Display dialog box.
To create a local message display:
  1. In
    FactoryTalk View Studio
    , in the
    Graphics
    editor, select
    Objects
    >
    Advanced
    >
    Local Message Display
, or click the local message display icon in the toolbox.
  2. Drag the mouse to position and draw a rectangle the general size and location you intend the display to be.
  3. In the
    Local Message Display Properties
dialog box, specify how the display looks, the message file to use with the display, and its tags.
    TIP:
Set up the message files in the Local Messages editor. A message file contains a list of messages with a trigger value for each message.
