E-Learning Course Catalog

Overview

This course provides instruction on the use of a lathe for turning and shaping metal workpieces, including how to use various cutting tools and grinders to produce precise shapes and finishes. Participants will be presented with information on how to operate and control an engine lathe, install and remove chucks and faceplates with cam locks, and perform alignment and centering procedures. This course will also cover how to perform rough and precision layouts of workpieces, and the correct procedures for sawing stock, straight and draw filing, sizing holes with hand reamers, tapping threads by hand, deburring parts, and removing broken studs.
