Configure a dynamic network

Configure a dynamic network by adding a system object and configuring its parameters.
  1. Create a system object instance:
    1. In the
      Type view
       pane, double-click
      System
      .
    2. Drag
      System
       from the
      Type view
       pane to the
      Model
       folder in the
      Project view
       pane.
      At runtime,
      FactoryTalk Optix Studio
       creates an object for each network interface (wired) detected on the machine.
  2. (Optional) To define network interfaces at design-time:
    1. In the
      Properties
       pane, set the
      InterfaceName
       variable value to
      LAN
       or
      WAN
      .
      NOTA: Performing this step is necessary if you want to make dynamic connections on the network parameters through
      FactoryTalk Optix Studio
      .
    2. Set other relevant properties of the network interface object.
    At runtime, the configured NetworkInterface object initializes.
