Probability of Failure on Demand
The average probability of a system to fail to perform its design function on demand.
PFH
Probability of Failure per Hour
The probability of a system to have a dangerous failure occur per hour.
PL
Performance Level
ISO 13849-1 safety rating.
SIL
Safety Integrity Level
A relative level of risk-reduction provided by a safety function, or to specify a target level of risk reduction.
SIL CL
SIL Claim Limit
The maximum safety integrity level (SIL) that can be achieved.
SNN
Safety Network Number
A unique number that identifies a section of a safety network.
UNID
Unique Node ID (also called unique node reference)
The unique node reference is a combination of a safety network number (SNN) and the node address of the node.
