Import a digital certificate from removable media
Load a digital certificate from removable media to the HMI device. A digital certificate allows you to access locations on the Internet that use HTTPS or WSS secured protocols.
TIP:
Tips:
- When creating a self-signed certificate, make sure theSubject Alternative Nameproperty of the certificate contains the IP address of the device or server you are connecting to.
- To import a certificate with .der extension, change the extension to .cer manually, or use a custom command that is setup with the certificate's exact filename.
Prerequisites
- Verify that the certificate files are in the root directory of the SD card or the USB drive.
- The certificates must have .cer, .crt, or .pem extension.
To import a certificate from removable media
- Insert the USB storage device or SD Card containing the runtime application into the HMI device.
- On the HMI device or in theSystem Banner, selectNavigation
and then select
Settings. - SelectCertificates. TheCertificatespopup opens.
- SelectImport.
- UnderSource, selectSD CardorUSB Device.
- From theCertificate fileslist, select a certificate file to import. You can only import one certificate file at a time.
- SelectImport.The HMI device imports the digital certificate.
