Enter data using the Virtual Standard Keyboard
Select a screen or graphic element requiring input to open the
Virtual Standard Keyboard
and then select keys to enter text and numbers. To enter data using the Virtual Standard Keyboard
- Touch the screen or graphic element requiring text input. TheVirtual Standard Keyboardopens. Any content already entered for the element is highlighted in theInputbox at the top of the keyboard.
- If desired, select in theInputbox or select the arrow keys to position the cursor in theInputbox. If there is no current entry, the cursor appears in theInputbox automatically.
- Enter or change the entry:To enter:Do this:Characters
- Select the appropriate keys.
- To delete characters, with the cursor in theInputbox, selectBackspace
to delete one character to the left at a time.
- To remove all the characters in theInputbox, selectClear
.
Capital letters- SelectShift
and select the letter.
- SelectCaps Lockto change the keyboard to all capital letters. The keys display capital letters until selectingCaps Lockagain.
Symbols- SelectSymbols
. A symbol appears on each key.
- Select theABCkey to show alpha numeric keys.
European charactersSelectLanguage. A character appears on each key. This is a toggle key that returns to default characters. Characters can show in upper or lowercase.
- SelectOKto insert the entry or selectCancelor elsewhere on the screen to close theVirtual Standard Keyboard.TIP:Tips:
- A red outline appears around theInputbox for an incorrect entry.
- When using an external keyboard or the keypad on the HMI device, tab to highlight the first key on theVirtual Standard Keyboard, select the arrow keys to highlight a key,Enter.
