Create a shortcut to a new screen
Create a shortcut to a screen that does not yet exist in the
Project Explorer
. Any changes made to the newly created screen and its properties are passed to the shortcut. If the screen that defines the shortcut contains property definitions, change those properties in the shortcut to customize the shortcut.Rockwell Automation
recommends using no more than 200 shortcuts per project. A View Designer
project for a PanelView 5310 can contain no more than a total of 100 screens and popups. A View Designer
project for a PanelView 5510 can contain no more than a total of 500 screens and popups. Projects must have a minimum of one screen. Shortcuts appear in the Navigation Menu
folder of the Project Explorer
and in the Navigation menu
on the HMI device.To create a shortcut to a new screen
- Right-click theNavigation Menufolder or one of its subfolders and selectNew Shortcut.
- In theNamebox of theNew Shortcutdialog box, type a unique name for the shortcut. Shortcut names are not case sensitive. Screen_001 and screen_001 are considered the same name.
- SelectLinked to a new screenand type the name of the new screen.
- Select theOpen screencheck box to have the new screen open when creating a shortcut and screen.
- SelectOK. The new screen appears in theUser-Defined Screensfolder and its shortcut appears in theNavigation Menufolder. If you selected theOpen screencheck box, the new screen opens.Any changes you make to the new screen are reflected in any shortcut you create for the screen.
