Copy an instance of an Add-On Graphic between projects
Copy an instance of an Add-On Graphic between projects to reuse the Add-On Graphic in another project. Copied instances of Add-On Graphics may be contained in groups.
Add-On Graphics must have unique names. Copying an instance of an Add-On Graphic between projects copies the definition of the Add-On Graphic. If a definition of an Add-On Graphic with the same name already exists in the target project, keep both Add-On Graphic definitions, replace the existing Add-On Graphic definition, or choose not to paste the Add-On Graphic definition.
To copy an instance of an Add-On Graphic between projects
- Open the source project and screen containing the Add-On Graphic to copy.
- On the screen, right-click the Add-On Graphic and selectCopy.
- Open the target project and screen to contain the pasted Add-On Graphic.
- Right-click the screen canvas in the target project and then selectPaste.TIP:If the instance of the Add-On Graphic is linked to a definition of an Add-On Graphic that does not exist in the target project, the definition is added to theAdd-On Graphicsfolder, and the Add-On Graphic is added to theToolboxof the target project.
- Pasting an instance of an Add-On Graphic in a different project where a definition of an Add-On Graphic has the same name displays options:
- Keep Both.Append the name of the copied Add-On Graphic definition with _001 or increment number. The definition appears in theAdd-On Graphicsfolder and the Add-On Graphic appears in theToolbox.
- Replace.Replace the existing Add-On Graphic definition with the copied definition. Any existing instances of the Add-On Graphic are updated with the new definition of the Add-On Graphic.
- Cancel.Do not paste the copied Add-On Graphic definition into the project. Paste the instance of the Add-On Graphic into the target project and link the instance to the existing Add-On Graphic definition with the same name.TIP:
- When copying multiple Add-On Graphics that are linked to multiple Add-On Graphic definitions that have the same names as existing Add-On Graphic definitions in the target project, select theDo this for the x remaining itemscheckbox to apply the selected option to each copied Add-On Graphic definition.
- When copying the definition of an Add-On Graphic that has an image that exists in the source and target projects, replace the image or cancel. Images are copied to theAssets > Imagesfolder of theProject Explorer.
Change the properties and behavior of the Add-On Graphic in the target project. Any changes to an instance of an Add-On Graphic do not affect any other instances of the Add-On Graphic.
