Resize a group
You can resize any group. The Height and Width values of a resized group display in the
Properties
tab.
IMPORTANT:
Resizing a group while not maintaining the aspect ratio can cause the graphic elements to skew. Skewing can cause the graphic elements to become disconnected when ungrouped.
To resize a group:
- On the screen or in theGraphic Explorer, select the group.
- On the screen, position the cursor on a sizing handle
until it turns into a double-arrow.
- To change the width or the height of the group, drag a side sizing handle.
- To change the width and the height of the group, drag a corner sizing handle.
- To maintain the aspect ratio, press and holdShiftas you drag a sizing handle.
- To maintain the center point of a group, press and holdAltas you drag a sizing handle.
- To maintain the aspect ratio and center point of a group, press and holdShift+Altas you drag a corner sizing handle.TIP:Tips:
- A tooltip shows the height and width of the group as you resize it.
- When you resize a group, the ScaleHorizontal and ScaleVertical properties show the percentage by which a selected graphic element within the group was resized horizontally and vertically. The horizontal or vertical scale value for a graphic element within a group that has not been resized is 100.
- If you resize a graphic element in a group, the Height and Width properties display the new size of the element, but the proportion is maintained. That is, the ScaleHorizontal and ScaleVertical values for the graphic elements in the group do not change.
- The font size configured for an element with a text value determines the height of the element. For example, if you resize or rotate a Text Input element, the font size does not change.
