Add a PI Server in PI SDK Utility

Add a
PI Server
 in PI SDK Utility on the
FactoryTalk ViewPoint
 server to show the
OSIsoft® PI Server™
 data on the trace of a TrendPro object.
Prerequisites
  • On the
    FactoryTalk ViewPoint
     server, install
    FactoryTalk Historian
     Connectivity using
    FactoryTalk ViewPoint
     installation package.
  • On the
    PI Server
    , create a trust using the application name
    ViewPoint.Server.Historian.WindowsService.exe
    . For more information about creating a trust, see
    PI Server
     Help.
To add a
PI Server
 in PI SDK Utility on the
FactoryTalk ViewPoint
 server
  1. From Windows
    Start
    menu, select
    All apps > Rockwell Software > AboutPI-SDK
    .
  2. In PI SDK Utility, select
    Connections > Add Server
    .
  3. In the
    Add PI Server
     dialog box, enter the
    PI Server
     computer name or IP address, and then click
    OK
    .
After the
PI Server
 is added, it shows in the
Connections
 list. Select the server checkbox to connect to the server and then re-publish graphic displays for this change to take effect.
