Connect to a web application

Connect to a web application to view displays containing information about your plant or process.
If the web application has security enabled and
Remember me on this computer
 is selected,
FactoryTalk ViewPoint
 automatically logs in using the most recently entered username and password. To prevent unauthorized access to the
FactoryTalk ViewPoint
 server, do not select this option on shared or public computers.
To connect to a web application
  1. Start a web browser.
  2. In the browser's
    Address
     bar, enter the desktop or mobile URL, replacing
    computer_name_or_ip_address
     with the hostname or IP address of the
    FactoryTalk ViewPoint
     server:
    • (desktop)
      http://computer_name_or_ip_address/FTVP
    • (mobile)
      http://computer_name_or_ip_address/FTVP/m
    If the site has an HTTPS binding, enter
    https
    instead of
    http
    .
  3. (optional) If the web application has security enabled:
    1. Enter a username and password.
    2. (optional) Select
      Remember me on this computer
       to save the sign-in details until the account is signed out, the password expires, or the account is disabled.
    3. Click
      Sign in
      .
