Configure trust to access the PI server

When Trend and Data Grid use FactoryTalk Historian as the data source, the FactoryTalk ViewPoint server must be added to the trust list to access the PI server.
To configure trust to access the PI server
  1. On the PI server, open
    System Management Tools (SMT)
    .
  2. Select the FactoryTalk Historian server name in
    Servers
    , and then select
    Security
     >
    Mapping & Trusts
    .
  3. Right-click the blank in the
    Trust
     pane, and then select
    New Trust
    .
  4. Specify
    Trust Name
    , and then select
    Next
    .
  5. Select
    Next
    .
    Make sure that
    PI-API application
    is selected by default.
  6. Select
    Next
    .
    Make sure that
    Application Name
     is blank by default.
  7. Configure the following:
    • Network Path
      : Enter the FactoryTalk ViewPoint server name.
      Make sure that the server name must be fully qualified.
    • IP Address
      : Enter "0.0.0.0".
    • NetMask
      : Enter "0.0.0.0".
  8. Select
    Next
    .
  9. Browse
    PI Identity
    , and then select "piadmin".
  10. Select
    Finish
    .
