View FactoryTalk View log files

After opening a
FactoryTalk View
 log file, you can view the information in a list or plot window.
To view
FactoryTalk View
 log files
  1. Select
    File
    >
    Open
     or select Open folder on the toolbar.
  2. In the
    Open
    dialog box, select the log file type.
  3. Select the file you want to view and click
    OK
    . The log appears in a list view window.
  4. If you view ME data log files or ME alarm log files, complete these steps:
    • View ME data log files
      In the
      Set Time Zone
       dialog box, select a time zone that you want the date time information to be converted in, and click
      OK
      .
      The conversion starts and the progress shows in the
      Converting Log file to dBase file
       dialog box.
    • View ME alarm log files
      In the
      Select RSView ME Alarm Setup File
       dialog box:
      1. From the terminal list, select an option to specify where the log file is generated.
      2. Click
        Browse
        to select the ME setup file (*.mal).
        TIP:
        Only use the .mal file that comes from the HMI project directory. Using a runtime .mal file may result in missing the
        Message
        column information.
        The file is located in
        \Users\Public\Documents\RSView Enterprise\ME\HMI projects\<App_Name>\M_Alarms\
  5. To view the log file in a trend plot window, select
    View > Plot
    or click File Viewer_ plot on the toolbar.
