Desktop setup options
The following table shows the options on the
Logon
tab in the DeskLock Setup
dialog box.Options | Descriptions |

Use existing Windows desktop (Explorer.exe) | Select this to configure Windows to use the default desktop (Explorer) the next time Windows starts. Any changes you have made in Windows functionality in the Logon tab will take effect the next time you restart Windows, regardless of which desktop you select here. |
Desktop Settings | You can choose to hide the items on the Windows Explorer desktop, the Taskbar, and/or the Start Menu when DeskLock is running. The hidden items, Taskbar and Start Menu reappear when DeskLock exits or when the DeskLock Setup window is opened. |
Hide Desktop Items | Select this box to hide the items on the Windows Explorer desktop when DeskLock is running and the DeskLock Setup window is closed. |
Hide Task Bar | Select this box to hide the Windows Taskbar when DeskLock is running and the DeskLock Setup window is closed. |
Hide Start Menu | Select this box to hide the Windows Start Menu when DeskLock is running and the DeskLock Setup window is closed.This option is not available for Windows computers. |
Replace existing desktop with new DeskLock | Click this to use DeskLock as the Windows desktop the next time you restart your system. The DeskLock Applications section appears, with the following options. |
Programs | You can configure up to ten programs to start automatically, and have buttons in the DeskLock desktop. The first item in the list is the default, Application 1. It must be modified, and is only included as a placeholder. Programs that are to start automatically do so in the order they appear in the Programs list unless they have a start delay time. |
Name | If you specify that a button is to be included for this program, the name you type here appears on the button in DeskLock at runtime. |
Program | Type the name and complete path of the program that is to start at runtime, either automatically, or when its button is clicked, depending on how you have configured it. Click the Browse button to look for and select the program. |
Command Line Parameters | Type any command line parameters that are required by the program. You can also click the Browse button to look for and select a file if one is a required parameter. File types for various FactoryTalk View products are available in the Files of type: list. |
Window Style | Select a style for the window that the program will run in. It can be Normal, Minimized or Maximized with focus, or Normal or Minimized without focus. |
Include a button on the DeskLock window | Select this box to have the program represented by a button in the DeskLock window at runtime. The label that appears on the button is whatever you type for the name. |
Automatically run program at startup | Select this box to run the program when DeskLock is started. Programs are started in the order they appear in the Programs list unless they have a Start Delay time. |
Auto Start Delay (Sec) | Enter the number of seconds (1-600) to delay startup of the application after DeskLock starts. When DeskLock is running as the desktop, the Exit DeskLock button in the DeskLock window will be unavailable. |
