Enable auto logout
Select this check box to turn on the automatic logout feature.
When auto logout is enabled, the current user will be automatically logged out after the specified inactivity period. If a
Logout
macro is specified, it will be run when automatic logoff occurs.
The login of a new user will trigger the restart of the SE Client and the initial display will be loaded. If the startup macro is configured to open a specific display, that display will be loaded instead.
In the
Logout
macro, you
can configure a
Login
command and a
Display
command to log in with a new user and open a specific display upon the logout of the previous user
.
Inactivity period
The inactivity period is the number of minutes of mouse or keyboard inactivity, after which the client will automatically log out the current user. The number can be from 1 to 99.

FactoryTalk View SE
Client as view-only
Select this check box if the
FactoryTalk View SE
Client is to be opened as a view-only client.
When a
FactoryTalk View SE
Client is opened in view-only mode, the user can only perform read operation (rather than read/write). This means that the followings are disabled:
  • tag writes
  • recipe saves
  • actions allowed from an alarm summary
  • commands processed on the HMI server.
Commands processed on the client are enabled, except
Download
,
DownloadAll
,
RecipeProDownload
, and
RecipeProUpload
.
You can use the
Desktop Lock
tool to prevent users from restarting the system or switching to other applications from an SE Client window.
Disable switch to other applications
Select this to prevent the user from using Windows hot keys to switch to another application from the client window. When this option is selected the user cannot set focus to other windows or the Windows desktop.
Allow display code debugging
Select this check box to give the user access to the VBA Code editor. This allows the user to make changes to the Display Code associated with a graphic display.
Tip:
If code debugging is enabled, the user can open the VBA Code editor by pressing Alt + V.
