Advanced settings - Client window properties

The following table shows options in the page.
Option
Description
Client window background color
Specify the background color on the
FactoryTalk View SE
Client. Click to select another color that you want in the
Color
palette.
Multi-monitor
Select this option if you want to deploy the SE client on multiple monitors.
Window size
Select the window size when it opens.
  • Maximize window
    Select this option if you want to maximize the window when it opens.
  • Specify client window size in pixels
    Select this option if you want to specify the window size when it opens.
    To specify the width and height, enter a number between 10 and 99999. If the input value is larger than the screen resolution, the resolution value is used to show the client window. All

    Client monitors in your system must be configured with the same resolution.
  • Allow client to be resized at runtime
    Select this checkbox if you want to resize the window at runtime.
Show title bar
Select this if the window is to have a title bar. If this is selected and no title is specified, the default title
FactoryTalk View SE
Client will be displayed.
Title bar text
Type the name that is to appear in the title bar of the
FactoryTalk View SE
Client at runtime.
Show system menu and close button
Select this if the title bar is to contain a control menu icon on the left and a close button on the right. If Show title bar is not selected, this option is not available.
Show Min/Max buttons
Select this if the title bar is to contain minimize and maximize buttons. If Show title bar and Show system menu and close buttons are not selected, this option is not available.
Show Diagnostics List
Select this if the client window is to have a bar along the bottom of the window to display information about system activity on the
FactoryTalk View SE
Client computer. This information is logged by FactoryTalk Diagnostics if it has been set up to log to the Diagnostics List.
At runtime, all commands issued by the
FactoryTalk View SE
Client that are processed on the server, are logged by FactoryTalk Diagnostics on the server computer.
Allow undocking of Diagnostics List
Select this if the user is to be able to undock the Diagnostics List and move it elsewhere in the client window.

Specify monitor size in pixels

Monitors layout
Select a layout for the monitors that you plan to deploy.
HMI server
Select an HMI server that the client will connect to.
Display name
Type or select an initial display for the current monitor.
Each monitor can have up to five initial displays. You an also set up the startup macro on the
Startup components
page to launch displays on multiple monitors by using monitor index parameter.
Display parameter
Type the
Display
command parameters that will be used when the display is opened.
For example, you can use one of the docking position parameters (
DT
,
DB
,
DL
, or
DR
) to attach the display to the top, bottom, left, or right edge of the FactoryTalk View SE Client window. You could also specify
P
, followed by a parameter file name, or
T
, followed by a list of parameter tags, to supply tags for a display that contains tag placeholders.
Monitor

Click each monitor that you plan to deploy and set up the settings.
Dock and maximize display on a single monitor
Selecting this check box does two things:
  • The display is docked on a single monitor instead of across multiple monitors when using the
    Display
    command's docking position parameters.
  • The docked display is maximized on a single monitor instead of across multiple monitors when using the
    Display
    command's
    /Max
    parameter.
Note
: With this check box selected, if the
Size to Main Window at Runtime
option of
Display Setting
is enabled, the display's title bar will be hidden.
