Add an existing component
You can add a component that already exists in some other applications, or elsewhere on your system, into the application you are currently editing. This creates a copy in the editor’s folder in the current application and leaves the original component untouched.
If you add a display from an older version HMI server and that display contains a Trend object with
FactoryTalk Historian SE
pens:- The display will be converted to the newer version.
- If there is more than oneFactoryTalk Historianserver configured inFactoryTalk Directory, the firstFactoryTalk Historian SEserver name will be saved into the trend'sModelname of thePenstab as <FactoryTalk Historianserver name>.
- If there are noFactoryTalk Historianservers configured inFactoryTalk Directorywhen copying, the Trend version will be converted to the new version but theFactoryTalk Historianserver name will not be saved and theModelname of thePenstab is NULL.
To add an existing component:
- InFactoryTalk View Studio, in the Explorer window, right-click the editor’s icon and selectAdd Component into Project.
- In theAdd Component into Projectdialog box, locate the existing component you plan to add and selectOpen.TIP:You can also drag components from the Windows Explorer and from theFactoryTalk View Studiowindow.
