Use the Command Wizard

The Command Wizard helps you build command strings by providing lists to choose the commands from, and displaying the syntax for the command. If the command requires parameters, there is a second dialog for selecting parameters and entering additional information. The Command wizard is available anywhere you can enter a FactoryTalk View command.
To build a command string using the Command Wizard:
  1. In
    FactoryTalk View Studio
    , open the
    Command Wizard
    .
  2. In the
    Command Categories
     list, click the folder containing the command you intend to use.
  3. Click the command. The syntax for it is displayed below the two lists.
  4. If the command requires parameters, click
    Next
     to go to the second step.
  5. Specify the parameters the command requires.
  6. Type or select additional information, as indicated in Step 2 of the
    Command Wzard
    . As you specify parameters, they are added to the command string that is displayed below the parameters.
  7. Click
    Finish
    when the command is complete.
