Application Libraries

Application Libraries provide visualization elements such as global objects and faceplates that let you quickly build applications. The Application Libraries that are installed along with FactoryTalk View SE include Rockwell Automation Device Object Libraries and Rockwell Automation Library of Process Objects. These libraries are stored in C:\Users\Public\Documents\RSView Enterprise\SE\Application Libraries. You can add Application Libraries to a new or an existing HMI server.
The installed Application Libraries and their versions are:
  • Device Object Libraries
    • Condition Monitoring Device Library -
      <version>
    • IO Device Library -
      <version>
    • IO Link Device Library -
      <version>
    • Network Device Library -
      <version>
    • Power Device Library -
      <version>
    • Safety Device Library -
      <version>
  • Library of Process Objects
    • Process Library -
      <version>
    • Process Library -
      <version>
<version>
is a placeholder, representing the library version.
To download the latest versions of Device Object Libraries and Library of Process Objects, go to the Product Compatibility and Download Center and search "Device Object Libraries" and "Process Library". To add the libraries, you can place them in the
Application Libraries
folder and import them together, or you can import them separately.
Remark
  • Adding the Application Libraries affects the license counts because it adds extra displays to the application. Each added faceplate (.gfx file) counts as one display for activation purposes. The corresponding global object display (.ggfx file) does not add to the total license count.
  • In a network system where the HMI server and FactoryTalk View Studio are on two computers, to add Application Libraries, the library files must exist on both computers.
