Migrate legacy HMI alarms to FactoryTalk Alarms and Events alarms

To make the migration easier, use the
FactoryTalk View
 Alarm Migration Tool
 to export HMI alarms to
FactoryTalk Alarms and Events
 tag-based alarms in XML or Excel, and then use the
Alarm Import and Export Wizard
 to import the XML or Excel file into your Tag Alarm and Event server. The steps may vary depending on the operating system you are using.
IMPORTANT:
FactoryTalk View
 version 10.00 is the last release to support the legacy HMI tag alarms. We highly recommend that you update your alarming strategy to use
FactoryTalk Alarms and Events

To migrate legacy HMI alarms to
FactoryTalk Alarms and Events
 alarms:
  1. Select
    Start
     >
    Rockwell Software
     >
    FactoryTalk View
     Alarm Migration Tool
    .
  2. Select
    Export HMI alarms to FactoryTalk Alarms & Events Tag-based alarms in XML
     or
    Export HMI alarms to FactoryTalk Alarms & Events Tag-based alarms in Excel
    .
  3. Follow the instructions to finish the exporting. For more information, click
    Help
    .
  4. In
    FactoryTalk View Studio
    , right-click the Tag Alarm and Event server where the alarms are defined, and then select
    Import and Export
    .
  5. In the
    Alarm Import Export Wizard
    , in the
    Operation Type
     window, select
    Import alarm configuration from XML file
     or
    Import alarm configuration from Excel file
    .
  6. Follow the instructions to finish the importing. For more information, click
