Security by exclusion

The following procedure applies only to accounts on the
ME Runtime 3.20 and earlier
tab of the
Runtime Security
editor.
Security by exclusion restricts access for all users, except the system administrator, to only a few specific graphic displays.
To set up security by exclusion
  1. In the
    Graphics
editor, assign security codes to the graphic displays you want to restrict access to. Only the users with access to the assigned security codes will be able to use the restricted displays. All users will have unlimited access to the displays that have not been assigned a specific security code.
You can assign the asterisk (*) to a display if everyone is to have access to it. For example, you might assign unlimited access to the startup graphic display.
  2. In the
    Runtime Security
editor, specify the users and set their access for all codes to No (N) except for those each user is to have access to.
  3. For the DEFAULT user, turn off access to those codes that have been assigned to specific graphic displays. This ensures the security of the displays you have assigned these codes to.
