Edit fine details with the keyboard
You can use the keyboard to obtain more precise control than the mouse gives you when editing the fine details of a graphic display. The keyboard can be used for reshaping, resizing, repositioning, and drawing objects.
To reposition an object
- Use theUp,Down,Right,andLeft Arrowkeys to move the Select cursor (single arrow) over the object.
- Press and hold theShiftkey. This is equivalent to holding down the left mouse button.
- Use theArrowkeys to move the object to its new position, then release theShiftkey.
To resize or reshape an object
- Move the Select cursor over the object.
- Press and release theShiftkey. This selects the object and displays its handles.
- Move the Select cursor to a handle using the Arrow keys. When the cursor is over a handle, the handle will become a double arrow.
- Press and hold theShiftkey.
- Use theArrowkeys to drag the handle until the object is the way you want it.
To draw an object using the keyboard
- PressAlt-Oto open theObjectsmenu.
- Use theArrowkeys to move to the object you want, then pressEnterto select it.
- Use theArrowkeys to move the tool cursor to the place in the display where you want to start drawing the object.
- Press and holdShift.
- Use theArrowkeys to drag the tool until the object is the size and shape you want.TIP:Use the plus (+) and minus (-) keys to increase or decrease the amount moved by theArrowkeys, per key press.To stop drawing, pressAlt-Oto open theObjectsmenu, then choose the Select tool.
