Options on the General tab of the Text Properties dialog box
The following table shows the options on the
General
tab of the Text Properties
dialog box.Options | Descriptions |

Text | Enter the text to use. |
Insert Variable | Click this button to select the type of variable to be inserted. |
Font | Select the font to use for the text. |
Font size | Select the font size to use for the caption or message. |
Bold, Italic, Underline | Select a font style for the caption or message, if required. |
. . . | Click the browse button  to open the Font dialog box and select font attributes for the object. |
Back color | This box shows the current background color for the object. Click it to select another color. If the background style is transparent, the application does not use this background color. |
Fore color | This box shows the color of the text shown on the object. Click it to select another color. |
Size to fit | Select this box if you want the text to stretch or shrink to fit if the object is resized. If this box is cleared, the Word wrap selection applies.If your application is using language switching, the text size may be different when shown in different languages. |
Word wrap | Select this check box if you want the text to continue on the next line at the beginning of a new word. If this check box is cleared, the text continues on the next line whenever the maximum text length is reached, even if this occurs in the middle of a word or number. The maximum text length depends on the width of the object and the font size. Word wrap only applies if Size to fit is not selected. |
Alignment | Select how you want the text to be positioned relative to the text object's bounding box. |
Back style | Select whether the object background is solid or transparent. If you select Transparent , the object’s background is not filled in and any objects behind it show through. The bounding box for the text is not filled in and any objects behind the text shows through between the letters. |
