Options on the States tab of the Interlocked Push Button Properties dialog box

The following table shows the options on the
States
tab of the
Interlocked Push Button Properties
dialog box.
Options
Descriptions
Select state
Click the state for which to set up properties.
The released state is State 0. The selected state is State 1.
When the button’s connection tag value equals the button value you set up in the
General
tab, the button is in State 1. If the connection tag is any other value, the button is in State 0.
General
Back color
This box shows the current background color for the state. Click it to select another color.
If the background style is transparent, the application does not use this background color.
Border color
This box shows the border color for the state. Click it to select another color.
If
Border uses back color
is not selected on the
General
tab, this color appears at runtime.
Blink
Select this check box if you want the object’s background to blink when the object is in this state at runtime. The blink rate is twice per second.
Pattern style
Select a pattern for the state. The pattern appears on the face of the object. The pattern does not cover the object’s border, caption, or image (if any are defined for the object).
If the object’s back style is specified as transparent or gradient in the
General
tab, the pattern is not visible.
Pattern color
This box shows the current pattern color for the state. Click it to select another color.
Caption
Enter the text for the state. The text appears on the face of the object, to give the operator information about the current state.
Insert Variable
Click this button to select the type of variable to be inserted.
Font
Select the font to use for the caption.
Size
Select the font size to use for the caption.
Bold, Italic, Underline
Select a font style for the caption, if required.
Caption color
This box shows the current text color for the caption. Click it to select another color.
Caption back color
This box shows the current background color for the caption. Click it to select another color.
If the caption background style is transparent, the application does not use this caption background color.
Caption blink
Select this check box if you want the caption to blink at runtime. The caption blinks twice per second.
Word wrap
Select this check box if you want the text to continue on the next line at the beginning of a new word.
If this check box is cleared, the text continues on the next line whenever the maximum text length is reached, even if this occurs in the middle of a word or number. The maximum text length depends on the width of the object and the font size.
Caption back style
Select whether the caption’s background is
Solid
or
Transparent
.
If you select
Transparent
, the object’s background is not filled in and any objects behind it show through.
Alignment
Specifies how the caption is positioned on the object. If the object shape is circle or ellipse, the position is relative to the object's bounding box.
Image settings
Image
Enter the file name of the graphic image for the state or click the
Browse
button to select the image in the
Image Browser
. The image appears on the face of the object to show the information about the current state.
Before you can place an image on the object, you must import the image into your project.
Image color
This property applies to monochrome images. It determines the color the image is drawn in; that is, the foreground color.
Click the colored box to select another color.
Image back color
This property applies to monochrome images. It determines the color of the background the image is drawn on. Click the colored box to select another color.
If the
Image back style
is
Transparent
, the background of the image will be transparent.
Image blink
Select this check box to let the monochrome image blink at runtime. The image blinks twice per second.
Image scaled
Select this check box to let the application resize the image to fit the object. If the object shape is circle or ellipse, the image is resized to fit in the object’s bounding box and clipped to fit the object’s shape.
If this is not selected, the image is first aligned using the
Alignment
setting, and then, if larger than the object, the image is clipped to fit the object.
Image back style
This property applies to monochrome and color images. Use it to set the background style to
Solid
or
Transparent
.
If Image back style is
Transparent
:
  • For monochrome images, the background will be transparent .
  • For color images that are not PNG with Alpha channel, any parts of the images that are black will be transparent.
Alignment
Specifies how the image is positioned on the object. If the object shape is circle or ellipse, the position is relative to the object's bounding box.
