Linear Gauge Properties - General tab

The following table shows options under
Appearance
of the
General
tab.
Options
Description
Border style
Select the border style for the object.
Border width
Enter the number of pixels for the width of the object’s border.
Back style
Select whether the object background is solid, gradient, or transparent.
  • If you select
    Transparent
, the object’s background is not filled and any objects behind it show through.
  • If you select
    Gradient
, the object's background is filled with a linear gradient color.
Gauge style
Select a gauge style from the list:
  • Vertical
    : The gauge is vertical.
  • Horizontal B
: The gauge is horizontal with the ticks on its bottom.
  • Horizontal T
: The gauge is horizontal with the ticks on its top.
Value indicator
Select the size of the value indicator.
Alarm indicator
Select whether to show the alarm indicator or the size of the alarm indicator. It is displayed when the current value reaches or crosses a threshold.
Border uses back color
Select this check box to use the object’s background color for the border. If this is not selected, you can assign a separate color to the border, instead of using the object’s background color.
Back color
This field displays the current background color for the object. Click it to select another color.
  • If the background style is transparent, the application does not use this background color.
  • If the background style is gradient, click it to bring up the
    Gradient Fill
dialog box to configure the gradient fill.
For objects with a line style other than
Solid
, the background color is used for the spaces between the dots or dashes.
Border color
This field displays the border color for the object. Click it to select another color. This color appears at runtime only if
Border uses back color
is not selected.
Value indicator color
This field displays the current color of the value indicator, which is a triangle on the side of the linear gauge. Click it to select another color.
TIP: The value indicator color determines the line color of the sparkline.
The following table shows options under
Scale settings
of the
General
tab.
Options
Description
Outline color
Select the color for the linear gauge's scale outline and ticks.
Show ticks
Select this check box to show the ticks on the linear gauge.
Major ticks
Select the number of major ticks.
TIP: The number of major ticks on the scale determines the number of grid lines in the sparkline: horizontal grid lines if the gauge is vertical, and vertical grid lines if the gauge is horizontal.
Minor ticks
Select the number of minor ticks.
Show legend
Select this check box to show the legend on the major ticks.
Field length
Select the character length of the tick legend.
Decimal places
Select the number of digits to show after the decimal point.
Font
and
Size
Select the font type and size for the tick legend.
